On Thursday 8 November, a room full of (mainly) women and a few babies 🙂 came to Innovation Birmingham iCentrum to find out more about the new online platform.
We want to say a big thank you to everyone who came to our launch -?Everything to make your hair popp!
hair popp! was created to be a hub for hair enthusiasts, influencers and brand owners. With quirky and informative articles and an active social media presence, we want to connect consumers to the healthy hair care brands to basically make your hair popp!?We carefully scour and seek to connect with independent hair care brands and owners that enable women (and men) to take ownership of healthy hair.
After a short introduction from me and an open conversation with the audience, we had a panel discussion.
The hair popp! panel of brand owners
What’s a launch of the platform without some of our brands? From natural, plant-based products, hair-care services, and events, we serve to create, curate and share content that inspires you to discover, learn and engage with a community – authentically created for you. So, it was important that our audience heard from some of the brands we stock online. Joining us on a panel were Kam, Kadian and Rose (from left to right).
Mini market stall
What do you think of our hair popp bathroom display?
In order to expand the?love, we also had a mini market stall.
- Supporting young parents service Improving Your Future?have an event on Saturday 24 November in Birmingham.
- Delicious cake studio – Just So Cake Studio with their sweet treats and afro hair cake which was so appropriate for Everything to make your hair popp!
- Nubian Decor the home of exclusive handmade hair adornments and jewellery
- Anaisarts – bespoke jewellery and merchandise.
Everything to make your hair popp!
Our engaging audience really created an atmosphere where people could speak openly. We heard from parents who started their natural hair journey to be an example to their daughters, to those who were natural but didn’t feel confident to embrace their natural hair in public.
Nikki Tapper from BBC WM and Nicola Beckford from BBC Midlands Today made an appearance and engaged in the open discussion. Our guest also featured hair enthusiasts such as bloggers, hair and beauty brands and stylists from Spring is in the hair, Birmingham.
Feedback
These are some of the things that people have said about the hair popp! launch:
I thought the debate was very inspirational and motivated me to support the people who have worked hard to make positive changes in the world of hair care using natural products.
it was also a reminder of how we should look at ourselves and use, less negative words to refer to our hair and how to embrace change.?GuestWas a lovely event, great natural humour from Dominique. Lovely to see so many beautiful natural black women in one room. Very inspiring, I haven’t put my wig/weave on since and am thinking of natural styles to rock.Guest
