Welcome to the hair service with a difference. Where, as the name suggests, you are treated like a queen. Where the ethos is ‘to make clients feel and look beautiful and confident’. Sound too good to be true? Cop the testimonials on the Hair 2 The Throne website to see for yourself. Or better still, treat your own locks to Monica Frempong’s signature touch.
Who is Monica Frempong?
Monica describes herself as a 34-year-old mother, who resides in South-West London and runs a small business. Quite a humble way to talk about yourself, considering all that Monica went through to have this seemingly simple life.
Monica is proud to be a Lupus warrior. Graduating with a BA honours in TV production and Media whilst being diagnosed with this debilitating illness. Medics even said that Monica would never work again. She defied this opinion with faith and determination, to work in the banking industry and eventually own her own business. Monica cites God’s plans and her mother’s support for the reason where she is today.
Why Hair 2 The Throne?
Monica has her brother to thank for the unique name of her studio. Monica wanted the name to pay homage to her faith in Christ. She also wanted potential clients to be aware that they would be treated like queens on a throne when they visited her studio.
Monica has been doing hair from since she was a teenie-bopper. We all have that cousin, who has been hooking up our fros from day one, but not many of these cousins actually act upon and harness their talent. Monica, on the other hand, knew her passion and gained a qualification in hairdressing. This enabled her to register her business officially in 2013. She proudly opened the doors to her studio in 2016. This enabled the provision of the ultimate hair and beauty experience. The Hair 2 The Throne legacy began.
Loyalty
Monica can fondly name her 5 top clients. Talented women, as she quotes, that have been using her services for years and keep coming back.
Monica rightly believes that developing a long-term relationship with your clients means they are most likely to return. She aids this return with the offer of a loyalty card for a discount on future visits. Loyalty, coupled with good service, also pushes high standard reviews and testimonials.
It is always good to stay true and loyal to yourself. Monica prides herself on making sure her hair is always ‘on point’. This inspires others and future client hairstyles.
Challenges
Many people are not so honest about the challenges they face in business. Monica is the opposite. She quotes that juggling her business, motherhood, Lupus and life, in general, can be hard. Monica launched an eyelash brand on the anniversary of her studio launch but says that too has been a struggle to market.
What’s next?
We hope to see Monica on salon finders such as The Black Hair Book.
Monica generates most of her new business from online marketing, such as Gumtree and Treatwell. Monica wants to continue her trend of competitions and giveaways on social media, as this helps get her noticed. The next big plan is to start a Youtube channel and possibly an e-book for further brand awareness. The sky is the limit for this lady on the throne.
As a treat for you our readers, Monica is offering 15% off your first appointment. Use GET15 when booking online via the Hair 2 The Throne website.
